Prototypes for native ad cards, ranging from static, to video and playable ads.
When designing these native ad cards, the main goal was to define a new ad experience that would be less invasive for the user, while still providing relevant information about the advertiser's app.
A design for a native card that would contain a widescreen video ad.
Rewarded Video Card
A rewarded video ad which the user would have to opt-in, in order to receive a reward (often in game currency) after viewing it.
This was a prototype that would present the user with a showcase-like experience similar to a store.
The user is shown multiple mini games in the form of a playable card, which the user can then try prior to installing. Upon tapping, the card would expand to reveal a full screen playable experience.
Below are variations of the scrollable playable card.
The first from left is the boldest one in terms of visual style. The full vibrant colored background enhances the prominence of the white call to action. The second and third from left are lighter variations, which allow for the app icon and rating to have more prominence.
On card #2 (from left) I wanted to experiment with the call to action. Would asking the user a question and providing the chance to opt in or out (yes-no) increase engagement and then conversion? Unfortunately these designs never made it to the finish line.
The flow the user would follow if they clicked on More.
The user would be taken to a screen that resembles an app store, where they could browse a variety of game demos.
